Story:
Botero Claus is from Medellin, Colombia. His favorite time of the year is Little Candles Day (or Día de Las Velitas in Spanish). It is one of the most widely observed traditional holidays in all of Colombia. Celebrated on December 7, it ushers in the start of the Christmas season. On this night, Colombians light small candles and secure them to their porches or outside their houses on sidewalks and even along the roadside. It’s a time of hanging out with family, eating traditional bunuelos, and preparing for the holiday season that is to come.
